I'm a Book Shark: About Tiffany

Hey, y'all! My name is Tiffany, but I also answer to Tiff, mama, mooooooom(my daughter) and hey you. I was born and raised in the same town I still live in. It's a little north of Nashville, TN and I remember when we had one blinking light in the center of town. Seriously, it was like Mayberry. Now, we have a McDonald's, Kroger's and even a Wal-Mart! We are moving up in the world, people:) I am married to my high school sweetheart. He is a fireman for the town we live in. We have two beautiful, crazy kids. My daughter is straight up diva and my son is the definition of boy. My house stays an organized mess and I wouldn't have it any other way:) I am a stay at home mom now after 13 years working retail. Believe me, I needed to get away! Haha! I get to see my kids grow up and that's the greatest joy:)

I'm so happy to be a part of this blog! I have a passion for books and I love writing reviews! I tend to write long ones sometimes, so I apologize in advance:) I get carried away! I can't help it. I get invested into stories and when I can't talk to someone in person about it, I ramble on in the form of a review. Haha!

Now for some fun...Here are some of my likes and dislikes:

LIKES:

*Books/reading- I mean, why would I be doing this if otherwise, right?! I love many types of genres, but Romance is number one! Whether it be NA, YA, Harlequin or heck, I even love the 'ol Duke and Duchess tales:) I also like some Paranormal. I love fairy tales, as well. You're never too old for them! When I was younger, my favorite books were The Boxcar Children and Nancy Drew. I loved solving the mysteries! I find such pleasure in reading. It's my escape.

*Hanson- Yes, the band. Don't you dare judge me! hehe. They have been my favorite since I was 13 and they have only gotten better with age. I have seen them, as of today, 9 times in concert and I even got to meet Zac last year! If I would have met Taylor, I would have been on the news as the lady that literally "can't even right now"! Hahaha!! I love that man. Like, seriously! He's number 1 on my laminated Top 5 list (Friends reference). If you haven't heard them since Mmmbop, I suggest you look them up! Now!! Go!!!

*T.V.- Ok, so I'm a T.V. junky. My favorite older shows are I Love Lucy, Friends, Desperate Housewives, The Golden Girls, The Nanny, Home Improvement...Oh, that list could go on forever!!

Current T.V. loves are Vampire Diares (Team Damon!!!!), Once Upon A Time (Oh, Hook!), The Originals, The Big Bang Theory, This Is Us, NCIS, Life In Pieces....And this list could be even longer! :)

I also like Ellen and some reality shows. Big Brother is my favorite!!

*Watching/going to movies-Yes, I love entertainment. I like most genres of film. Except, I can't seemed to get into documentaries very often. My favorite movie of all time is The Mask with Jim Carrey! He's my favorite actor and this movie always has a way of making me smile more than any other. I'm a sucker for a good RomCom and I love comedies. Also, if you want to get me talking, ask me about 80s movies. I'm obsessed with them!!! John Bender will always have my heart<3

*Music- I can't even tell you what music does for me! It's my world. Everything in my life has to do with music. My daughter is named after a song and my son is named after a singer. I always have my headphones in or I'm jamming out during household chores. I love that my kids have a love of music, as well.

To me, music is poetry in motion. Which leads me to...

*Poetry- Where do I begin? I started writing poetry in middle school. It started as journal entries and then I felt I had a knack for it. By the time I got to high school, it became a passion of mine. I wrote it more, I read it more and I even got into a poetry class to study it more:) My favorites are Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Frost and Shakespeare. I was even submitted into our school literary magazine two years in a row! Proud Moment!

*Singing- I was a chorus geek in school. No shame at all! I loved it and I miss it. I sing all the time. Sometimes not even known songs. Just in passing by. "You need to pick up your toys...la la la" "I'm doing the dishes...scrub, scrub scrub" My kids have started to pick up singing and it brings me to tears sometimes. It's beautiful to hear these tiny voices sing so sweetly:)

*Office Supplies- There, I said it. *exhales* If I see any office supplies on sale, I have to have them. I don't need protractors, but my kids will...one day. Notebooks on clearance for $0.50...gimme 20! Lisa Frank folder...yes!!! (come on, what girl doesn't still love Lisa Frank?!)

*Sonic- I have an obsession with their chili cheese tots and cherry coke!! If I'm having a bad day and you want to cheer me up, get me a cherry coke and I'll forever love you:)

Last but not least:

*Making people smile- I'm a very humorous and giving person. I love being funny and making jokes. If I can bring smile to someone that has had a horrible day or even week, I'm doing something right. I love to give gifts! I am in no way rich, but money doesn't buy happiness. It's the simple things. I'm big on making homemade gifts and collages. Taking people back in time and help them remember good times. It fills my heart:)

DISLIKES:

*Having to repeat myself-Can you tell I'm married with children? Haha!

*Pirates- Not the ones on a ship that say "aye, aye mate". The ones that take from others and try to sell it for their own gain. Books, music, movies, etc. Nothing irks me more than fiding out that someone has done this to another person who has worked so hard. Especially in the book world.

*Seafood- Yuck!! I just can't! Tuna is as close as I get and that's not too often.

*Tea- Yes, I live in the south. Yes, I know this is like a sin. But, I think it's gross. Sorry, not sorry.

*Discrimination/Bullies- Oh, don't get me started! I put these two things together because a lot of times they go hand in hand. One of my favorites quotes comes from Ellen, "Be kind to one another". It's that simple. Why be mean? Why hurt others for personal gain? In the end, all we have is each other.

*People who don't like superheroes- Don't you dare laugh! This is a serious topic!! Who can't love someone who risks their lives for others?! My favorite is Batman and my hubby loves Superman. The battle is always on! Haha! Plus, they have costumes and capes! Capes, people!!! :)

Ok, I think I may be done...oh, but...nope, I'm done. I have taken up enough of your time. Imagine if you saw me in person! I talk so much and so fast that my Grandaddy used to say ,and I quote, "What in the world did she just say? It was so fast, I didn't get a chance to understand it." :)
