"I've remained a private person for good reason, but for some strange reason Chloe is tearing down all the barriers and doesn't even know it." Being a huge fan of HJ Bellus, and of this series, I knew going into this book it would be epic. I was wrong. It. Was. Phenomenal!!!!!! This story was so raw, rough, and emotional. From the first page, you are immersed into this world of suspense and, not to be cliche,...Scandalous;) HJ Bellus knows how to write page turners!! Chloe and Kip are two completely different people that have been cut from a similar type of cloth. This book hits lots of hard topics. A few might trigger some readers, but I think it would also help some as well. "Chloe, you're healing me as much as I'm helping you." The abuse of someone you love can affect each person differently. This book conveyed so many emotions from each character involved. Especially from the ones on the recieving end. Chloe is an extraordinary character. She has stared the devil in the eye and still chooses to fight another day. Her strength and perseverance is what heroes are made from. Her story is one to be told!! Kip is the white knight on a steel horse that has battled through the darkness only to be burdened with guilt most of his life. He goes above and beyond to protect the ones he loves so they never have to endure what he has seen. "You're so much stronger than I am, baby. It took me years and I still struggle." "Not brave, just ready to be set free." I could say so much more about this book, but I could never do it justice. It is a story worth every penny. This whole series has taken over my brain. Each and every backstory of these characters is truly remarkable. You can tell how good an author is by how much a story stays with you. Kip and Chloe are two people that were meant to fall into each other at this point in their lives. Like I said before, this book hits so many hard topics, but I believe that every single person can get something from this story. Round of applause for HJ Bellus!!!
