Release Tour & Review -- Taxi by Cambria Herbert

Title: Taxi
Series: a Take it Off Novel
Author: Cambria Hebert
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: May 6, 2016

The meter is running…

One night as Rose Crawford steps out of a bar, she gives no second thought to lifting her hand to signal for a cab. After all, it’s the responsible thing to do.
A common occurrence.

Far safer than walking several blocks, alone, in the dark.

A familiar-looking yellow taxi with black, faux-leather seats, running meter on the dash, and a smiling driver pulls up to the curb.

Rose slides in. Gives the driver her address…

But she never reaches her destination.

Instead, she finds herself captive, at the will of a man who isn’t a driver, but a bona fide psychopath.

Trapped in a taxi she can’t escape, Rose begins to panic. As the miles between her and safety grow, hope dwindles. It isn’t until someone else joins her in captivity that her spark of hope is rekindled.

Derek is strong, capable, and surely together they can fight their way to freedom.

Then Rose finds out exactly why she’s been driven into hell. Derek may be an unwilling captive, but he isn’t going to help her.

In fact, he’s there to do the exact opposite.

5- Star Review

"I was going to regret this."

Holy crap, wow!!

This book had me drawn in from the blurb. I *patiently* waited for it to be in my hands to finally read.
I was not disappointed at all!!!!

Rose Crawford's life changed forever just by doing what so many do...grabbing a taxi after a late night with friends. She had no clue that the taxi she entered would become her worst nightmare.

Derek Kelley was a well-loved doctor that took his job very seriously. He knew he held a patient's life in the palm of his hands every day, but he didn't realize that the woman he pined for would be his greatest challenge yet.

"I'm so sorry you're here, Derek. But at the same time, I'm so glad."
"I know, sweetheart. I feel the same way."

Just when I thought I had this story figured out...bam, another twist!!
I was on the edge of my seat so many times, wanting to know what was about to happen...would they ever escape from their kidnappers?
So good!!!

I loved the fact that these two characters knew each other, and yet, had not one clue as to their connection in this entire mess.
It's actually mind-blowing!
I really didn't see it coming!

"I want to kiss you."
"I have enough injuries already without adding the whiplash you're giving me."
"No whiplash...bad timing. Worst circumstances ever for a first kiss."
"But..."
"But I still want to taste you. I want to lick across those chapped lips and soothe some of the dry. If you and I can get lost in each other here, now, then that invitation for a date...it's going to turn into a demand."

This story flowed so perfectly, intertwined wonderfully, that I didn't realize how quickly I read it!
I was captured into this horrible situation with Rose and Derek. I felt the emotion, the fear, and the desire between them.

I love Cambria's work because you always find yourself picturing everything just as she writes it. The details are great!

Their siuation felt so raw-so real.

"How quickly life comes into perspective when you're faced without a life at all."

High praise for Cambria!!!

I was so very pleased with Taxi!!
I haven't been able to get it out of my mind the past few days, because it was that good!

I almost wish there was more...maybe even a glimpse more into the future of Rose and Derek. I'm kinda hung up on them! ;)

"We were all vulnerable in one way or another. Mostly, we were vulnerable to time. Just like inside a cab, our meters were running...They could stop at any second, and the fee wasn't paid in dollar bills. It was paid with life."
