Family law attorney Gabriella Liakos
has one true love, Elpitha Island, where she grew up and hopes someday to
return. But Elpitha is in financial ruins, and Gabriella will do anything to
keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
Duke Ryder is a savvy real estate
investor set on making Elpitha into an exclusive resort. Unlike other
investors, he's not scared of purchasing a property where one family has roots
so deep they practically reach the ocean floor...until he meets his beautiful,
stubborn, and enticing tour host―the daughter of the owner of most of the
island.
Gabriella sets out to dissuade Duke
from purchasing Elpitha, but Duke has other ideas. He wants Gabriella and the
island. Duke's powerful seduction draws Gabriella in, but can a savvy investor
who's used to glamour and glitz, and a woman interested in preserving the
culture she adores find a happily ever after together?

"She felt like she'd known him for much longer than just a few hours, but she could see that he had that effect on everyone."
OH MY GEE!!!
I'm loving these Ryder siblings more and more!!
I think Duke might be my favorite...at least for now;) He and Gabriella are sizzling hot and there's no denying their attraction from the first time they meet.
Their romance is an instant one, but in such a wonderful way. Neither were looking for love, per se, but sometimes love finds you instead.
"So, you're definitely interested in the island?"
"Yes, very much so. Why else would I want to keep my distamce from you?"
"You heard that, huh?"
"I heard everything you said. And everything you didn't say...I have to keep my distance because everytime you're near, I want to kiss you. And I have a feeling that one taste of you would never be enough."
Good jeez!!!
I really enjoyed the partnership in this story.
On one hand, you have a girl who is all about family, who grew up on a wonderfully, intimate island, and is respecting her grandfather's wishes to help make the island an even better place.
On the other, you have a man who is equally about family, who takes his job very seriously, and respects the wishes of a woman he just met because he only wants the best for her.
There was a push and pull throughout. Not just in the relationship side, but in the professional. I LOVE how much he thought of her feelings about her homeland. How he never wanted to hurt her in any way. I dare you to read this book without swooning so hard!
"I'm supposed to be working with an investor, not falling for one."
Also, I can not go through this review without talking about how HOT AS HELL this story is!! My lawd! Like...wowza!
Very well done, Melissa;)
*fans self and grabs a water*
I had so many emotions as I read through Duke and Gabriella's story. Yes, it was hot and steamy. Yes, I laughed at the humor within as well as the cute moments between them. But there was so much heart and soul within these pages. The family presence was super strong on both sides and my heart was full.
I'm a sucker for a family dynamic. This book had two! It was wonderful.
"Duke. I can't do this. We can't do this."
"Baby, I can definitely do this, and you might not know it yet, but you can, too."
"No, Duke. I feel too much for you already."
"That's a good thing. Do you know how many years I've wondered if I'd ever feel for someone the way my parents feel about each other? I thought it was a farce, this whole 'you'll know your soul mate when you meet her' thing, but baby, I know. I'm falling for you, and I want more of you, not less."
"F-falling for me? No, Duke. You can't."
"Too late."
I'm completely in love with Gabriella and Duke! Like I want more of them just to see more of what their future holds! Guess it's good more Ryder family stories are coming! Maybe we will get some updates;) Just a hint!!!! hehe.
Another wonderful story from Melissa Foster stored into my heart!
"One day you'll realize we can't escape what's between us. You're already mine, baby, and I'm definitely yours."
