Never in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own plaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.

It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad.. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What Paul fails to mention is his best man, Porter, will be joining us, who just so happens to be my childhood crush and the man who broke my heart four years ago.

What is supposed to be a fun, family bonding experience across Route 66 turns into a war of pranks, awkward moments and bathrooms full of dirty flannel shirts and day old beard clippings. Paul’s know-it-all attitude and Porter’s devilish charm brings me to the brink of my sanity on my seven day trek across the United States with three bearded men in a small 1980’s RV.

"Marley, it's time to finally conquer The Mother Road."

I have never in my life laughed as hard as I did while reading this book!! Meghan Quinn has this way of taking situations and twisting them into amazingly, humorous events. Yes, I call them events because they are that memorable!!

Marley gets a huge surprise when her father, Bernie, and her brother, Paul, show up at her place riding in their old family RV, Tacy. Paul is getting married the following week and it's time they take this road trip before his new life begins. I love that their mother planned this whole trip before her passing!! It's genius!!

What Marley wasn't planning on was picking up someone along the way...a certain someone that broke her heart four years earlier. Her brother's best friend, Porter. She had always pined after him since they were young, but nothing prepared her for being stuck in a small space with him for a road trip across America!

"He's ruined all men for me, and I've never truly gotten to experience him to his fullest, only from a yearning distance."

This story had me hook, line, and sinker from the get-go! Not just because I love family stories, but I absolutely love friends-to-lovers stories! Especially ones that have the two characters trying to sneak around and try to play like everything is normal.

Marley is my kind of girl! She's spunky, outspoken, and can stand up to the boys. She wears her heart on her sleeve, but has the strength of a bull...and the stubborness to boot!

Bernie is the father everyone would love to have. He has the most amazing sense of humor and knows how to have a good time. But he has the heart of gold that makes him wonderful.

Paul. Oh, Paul. I think I laughed the hardest at him! The way he drove everyone crazy with his "facts" about everything. And how much he was scared of everything. The "spider" on his head about killed me!!! *crying from laughter*

Then there's Porter. LAWD!! I can see why Marley has always loved him. He isn't an actual member of the family, but he fits in as if he was always meant to be there. He loves with all his heart, but holds so much emotion in. He's completely crushworthy!

"Why don't we try to enjoy each other's company ratehr than be at each other's throats?"
"Don't count on it , Porter. I plan on making your life a living hell on this RV."
"Is that right?"
"Oh yeah. Watch your back, Smith, I'm coming for you, and you know what? Pay back is a bitch."
"Pay back for what?"
"For splitting my heart in half and leaving me to bleed on my own."

I will say that as much as I was laughing during this book, I was also swooning over the love inside Marley and Porter. They had a perfect cat and mouse game. They pushed and pulled against each other.

You also get the feel of this family. They are a tight knit group. Even though Marley lives clear across the country, their bond is strong. I love how they did everything their mother said to do on the roadtrip. They never strayed. There were parts that got my eyes misty because I could feel the mourning they still were dealing with.

I'm so much in love with this family and I couldn't get enough!!

"What are you thinking, Marley."
"I'm wondering if you're going to kiss me."
"I can't..."
"What are you thinking?"
"How I want you but I can't have you. How I want to know what it's like to feel you underneath me. I'm thinking about how we live in two different worlds, but how I desperately want to be a part of yours."

I'm so sad that this book had to end!! Can we get another "Where are they now?" novella or something? Goodness me!!

From the hot dogs to getting "peed" on, from mixed cds to RV games, from revenge to forgiveness, from learning where you belong and who has been there all along....this was a story not to be missed!!!

Meghan, you have done it again!! Thank you for the ride!!

"Porter has enriched my life and taught me how love isn't just about living your life with another person. Like my mom said, it's about fusing your soul with another."

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
