“Stop being a pain in my ass.” He grabs my chin and forces me to look into his eyes and all their devastatingly icy glory. “Someone. Wants. To. Kill. You.”

“I know.”

“Yet you don’t care.”

“I care,” I whisper, holding his gaze. “But did you ever think that I’m your best bet at catching this person? If they’re watching me, if they want to kill me, they’re there. Waitin’, like you said. And that means they’re gonna come to me. Not you. Not anyone else. Me.”

“Yeah, I thought it. But I don’t like it.”

“Ain’t your job to like it, Detective. It’s your job to deal with it.”

5- Stars of Awesomesauce Review!

"My lips tug at the thought of my boyfriend and best friend, Ryan. As long as he's in my life, I couldn't ask for anything more. Okay, maybe that's not totally true. I can always ask for more chocolate."

Such a great ending to an incredible series!! I was drawn into these books because I'm a sucker for "friends to lovers" stories.
 But they were so much more.

In this last book, you witness how strong Ryan and Lexie's friendship and love truly is. You also see how one certain event, or person, could change everything.

"I miss my best friend. And the weirdest part of it is that she never went anywhere."

Ten years after he left her and her mom, Lexie's father is back in the picture. Showing up out of nowhere and throwing their lives a curveball they never saw coming. Not only does it shift Lexie world, but Ryan's as well. He's slowly loosing her to the man that abandoned her all those years ago. 

Ryan doesn't trust her father, or what he's been telling her. But he supports her decisions because he loves her...even if it's pulling them apart.

"Please don't make me choose. I can't choose between you and him. That's not fair."
"I'm not making you choose. I just love you too much to keep quiet about it."

But don't think this book is all sad and no fun! In true Becca and Tessa form, they wrote a book that has as many laughs as serious situations. Lexie and Ryan had me laughing out loud! Also, you can't have them without Nate, Kaylee and Brett. 

Reading about these five characters makes me miss high school and the bonds that you make. You can take people that are so different, but they have a common bond...they need each other.

I can't tell you how many times I thought, "I did that!" or "That's just like my friend so and so." That's what makes me love this book/series! It's relatable no matter how old you are.

"God knows why."
"Oh, I can show you why."
"I don't think God will approve."
"I never said he would."

Goodness me. I just enjoy a good young love story! The innocence of it all. The first time experiences that stay with you forever. 

Lexie and Ryan go through a lot in this last installment of their story. Some parts you wouldn't want to wish upon anyone, but it's life. Lexie's dad returning was just the start of that curveball. 

"I love you so dang much."
"Why's that?"
"Because you can make me laugh even when I'm broken."
"You are not broken."

Thank you Becca and Tessa for creating such loveable characters that I loved right from the first page until the last in the series. Lexie, Ryan, Nate, Kaylee, Brett, Pop-Pop and Grams will forever be in my heart! 

I'll always remember the nail polish, ponytail braids, car-fixing, magic trick ways of these guys!

Ho-ly Crap!! What an amazing ride these Sterling brothers take you on! 

Kam and Jett's story is just as awesome as the others! Although, I did find myself being pulled to their brokenness a little more. They each have pasts (and presents) they are trying to overcome. 

"His problem is overreaction and pushing the limits of everything he puts his hands on. 

He knew she was poison, but couldn't stay away."

Just like the other books in this series, there is tons of heat and tons of emotion. You can't turn away from the Sterlings!  

Kam kinda stole my heart a bit, and Jett is his perfect match in every way. They have this love/hate relationship of sorts and it works perfectly.

"Jett, I'm here. I'm the real thing. I'll be the last man to ever touch you if you let me."

This series has wowed me! Such a change for HJ Bellus, but an amazing one!! It's truly been an honor to have read about these brothers. 

No matter what obstacles they face, they stand by each other!!
