Top Ten Tuesday - 2014 Resolutions

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly bookish top tens. This week's list is - top ten resolutions for 2014. I only wrote about seven. I'm sure I could think of more, but who needs more things to focus on? ;o) Check out what I'm going to work on in 2014!

  1. Editing
A resolution for this year is to keep expanding my editing knowledge and edit some really awesome books. I already have a wonderful list booked for this year, so I know it's going to be great.
  2. Reading
I plan on reading a little bit more for fun this year. I didn't balance my time very well, so I hope to read some more books that aren't ones I'm working on.
  3. Time Management
My time isn't always spent wisely. I check Facebook, get distracted by Twitter, and find myself wasting an hour on nothing. I could have been reading or working in that hour. So I plan on spending my time differently in 2014.
  4. Eating
I'm a plant-based vegan, but I need to spend some more quality time with raw foods again. They always make me feel better, so I plan on focusing on that some more.
  5. Being More Active
I do this in spurts, but I hope to implement dance breaks into my editing routine to keep circulation flowing and my body active. Any music suggestions? Also, yoga will be part of my weekly schedule now. Yay! And Husband and I got each other bikes for Christmas, so there's that too.
  6. Writing
This one is new to me. I hope to spend a little time each day writing something. Maybe a poem, maybe part of a novel, and maybe just a perfectly crafted tweet. I just want to keep trying to write.
  7. Living
Just because you're alive doesn't mean you're living. I'll be traveling, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying my whole day.

Are any of these on your list for 2014? Let me know!

  1. This is a really great list! I'm not vegan and not totally on raw foods, but since I've changed my diet and eat mostly raw (like throughout the day until dinnertime, usually) I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER! Thank you so much for being available for questions and cheerleading! I LOVE it. And I'm completely 100% pro-dancing every day. Movement makes me feel so much better, even when I don't want to. I know it sound so corny, but I usually dance around when I'm cooking dinner, which is usually the "real" meal of the day around here, so that's when I get my dancing, non-running movement in. And I mean I seriously like to dance - like arms-up, spinning around in the kitchen dance. My kids think I'm crazy but it does make a huge difference in how I feel and my mood, etc. My music changes every day but I can always count on Ellie Goulding, AWOLnation, Avicii, and some other bands like that to get me pumped up when I really want to get going.

I'd love to start doing yoga, but I just have never taken the initiative and time on that one. Perhaps that would be a good goal for me this year at some point.

    1. I'm so glad you feel better with the diet change. It's crazy how some small changes can lead to big change, huh? :o) And YEAH to the dancing! Keep it up. It's just great. All movement counts. Woo! You have a great playlist there too. :o)

Yoga is so something I'm glad I take a class for. I've tried those at-home videos and such, but the adjustments and instruction from an in-person teacher is just invaluable. :o)

  2. LIVING. Yes, this. I want to do as much of that as I did in 2013 and even MORE. And writing...oh writing. It saves me so often, and I hope you get good and into it this year, girl!

  5. Yes, on the living! I've got to spend more time with family and friends, and I want to travel more - even if it's just day trips to places around me. I hope you meet all your goals and have a very happy 2014!!!
