Interview with Caisey Quinn

Mickey: Hello, Caisey Quinn! Welcome to the blog! Please introduce yourself.
Caisey: Hi y’all! I’m a relatively new indie author and I write books about country girls finding love in unexpected places!

Mickey: I absolutely love Kylie and Trace! How is Girl on Tour different than Girl with Guitar?
Caisey: Thanks girl! Um, it’s different in a lot of ways, but mostly I’d say the differences readers will see have to do with where the characters are in their development and their relationships. Also, I’ve been warning folks. Girl with Guitar was a Happily For Now ending and this one is…not.

Mickey: You also wrote and released Keep Me Still recently. Tell us about that one.
Caisey: Keep Me Still was the first book I ever wrote from start to finish. It’s about a girl with a seizure disorder that leaves her small town (where everyone knows everything about everyone) to try and start over in college. But someone from her past ends up at the same college. I released a special edition early in honor of my nephew (who shares a name with my main character) being born early.

Mickey: Trace is a popular in the New Adult fiction world! He also shows up in Elizabeth Lee's novel, Escaping Me. How did that happen?!
Caisey: I have this theory that Elizabeth Lee reads my mind. Pretty much she had this couple and they were listening to the radio in a scene and apparently EL had her CQ antenna in because Trace came on! ;)

Mickey: Speaking of Elizabeth Lee, I know she's your role model. Tell us about why you love her so much and want to be just like her. (YES, this was EL's idea. Hahahahaha.)
Caisey: Well, aside from her impressive mind reading and character-napping abilities, I do love her down home charm and sparkling wit. And she’s extremely adept at picking sarcastic eCards that make my life complete.

Mickey: I love audio books. If you could choose anyone to narrate your Kylie Ryans novels, who would you choose?
Caisey: Oohh! Good question! I think either Miranda Lambert or Carrie Underwood because I’d want them to sing the song lyrics. ;)

Mickey: You primarily write contemporary New Adult novels. Have you ever considered writing a different age range or genre?
Caisey: I have. I actually have some Young Adult novels I’ve written and some in the works that may see the light of day at some point. I am also writing a series that will come out next year that’s more adult than new adult. Characters in their mid-twenties and up.

Mickey: How do you name your characters in your books?
Caisey: It might sound strange but they just kind of come to me. As soon as the idea for the story begins to form they’re just sort of there in my head along with it. Sometimes I check around on Facebook or somewhere for spelling ideas and variations.

Mickey: What's next for Caisey Quinn and/or Kylie and Trace?
Caisey: For me it’s just writing, more writing, editing, and revising. I’m really excited about a few joint projects I have coming up with other authors. Collaborating is a lot of fun and wasn’t something I ever expected to get to be a part of. Oh Kylie and Trace…like any couple there’s lots of bumps and twists and turns in the road. You’ll just have to read and see. ;) Sometimes they even surprise me.

Mickey: What's your favorite fruit to eat?
Caisey: Strawberries. I count the days until strawberry picking season every year! Though I’ve developed a recent fondness for cherries. *wink wink*

Mickey: Thanks so much for being on the blog today, Caisey! Any parting words?
Caisey: Thanks for having me! Girl with Guitar and Keep Me Still are currently on sale for 99 cents for those of you looking for fun weekend reads! And a big thank you to all of you who support indie authors like myself by buying books, leaving reviews, and sending sweet messages/emails/notes. <3
