Survey Time!
Jamie over at The Perpetual Page-Turner created this really fun survey for us book bloggers!! Check mine out and go see hers on her blog. Totally takes me back to the survey days on Myspace and stuff. YAY!
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Apparently this is Janet Evanovich. Any guesses as to how many books I've read by her? FORTY-FIVE. Good grief. I love me some Stephanie Plum, but wow.
(Note from Jamie: Want an easy way to figure this out if you have Goodreads and keep good track of your stuff? Go to your account, hit “my books”and on the left hand side under your shelves you will see “most read authors”)
Best Sequel Ever:
Something Blue by Emily Giffin. I really enjoyed all the drama that was Something Borrowed. I also really couldn't stand Darcy. But I gave her book a shot and loved it even more than the first one. Yesss.
Currently Reading:
Uhh, just the stuff I'm editing right now. That's usually how it goes here. I'd love to finally read One Tiny Lie by K.A. Tucker though!
Drink of Choice While Reading:
I really just drink water, but some tea sounds pretty good. Green tea, plain. Thanks.
E-reader or Physical Book?
I really prefer a physical book but I love my Kindle too. It just depends on how I feel I guess.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Wow. Good question. Let me think. I dated shy boys, skater boys, rednecks, you name it. I might have dated any fictional character really. Hahaha.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Twilight. I know, I know. But seriously. I was SO against it for SO long. When I finally gave in, I devoured the series and I haven't stopped reading since.
Hidden Gem Book:
My initial reaction was Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally. I think lots of people have read and enjoyed it though. Hmm. I'm sticking with it. I was pleasantly surprised. That and Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker. Oh, and Anathema by her too. Yeah.
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
My husband asked me if I could find a way to get paid for reviewing books. That led me to finding book blogs, and that led me to editing - AKA doing what I love. Yay!
Just Finished:
I just finished editing Pregnancy: A Journey to Motherhood, but I also just finished reading (listening to) The Sea of Tranquility for fun. OMG.
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Poorly edited ones. I'll read just about anything, but if I open it and the editing is bad, forget it.
Longest Book You’ve Read:
It says The Laughing Corpse by Laurel K. Hamilton (773 pages). But I listened to that one. The one I did read was Breaking Dawn - 756 pages. Then some Ellen Hopkins books, but those hardly count as long. I love the way she writes. *sigh*
(Note from Jamie: Easy way to find this out. Go to your Goodreads “read” list, don’t scroll down but where you are on the screen there will be this little tab on the bottom that lets you choose how you want to scroll or how many books you want display. There is also a sort option with a drop down and you can sort by page.)
Major book hangover because of:
Books 3-5 in the Succubus/Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead. They killed me. And just recently I couldn't close my jaw after The Sea of Tranquility either. OMG.
Number of Bookcases You Own:
Well, I have two. But then my spare bedroom is covered in books all over the floor. Whoops. I'm sloppy.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
Pride and Prejudice. I'm not a huge rereader, but I can go back to that book sometime.
Preferred Place To Read:
Wherever. Anywhere where I can be comfortable. I wish I had a reading room or a really great oversized reading chair. That would be lovely.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
"For the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home." - Stephanie Perkins, Anna and the French Kiss
Reading Regret:
I regret not having enough time to read much anymore. I wish I could have gotten into the Harry Potter series. I *almost* regret not having read Twilight sooner, but I read it when I needed to. Hmm. I think that's it.
Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):
This could be a very long answer, but I'll say that I need to read Sever by Lauren DeStefano to finish that series.
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Pride and Prejudice, Sing You Home, and PS I Love You
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
All of the authors I edit for. I love you all. <3
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
I'm pretty out of the loop since I don't get to read as much, but I'm looking forward to the next Stephanie Plum, the Isla book by Stephanie Perkins, and all the books I've edited to be released. I love sharing those with you guys!
Worst Bookish Habit:
Not reading enough! LOL
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
They're upstairs. I'm lazy. Sorry. ;o)
Your latest book purchase:
Hmmm. I haven't really bought too many books in a while. I think it may have been a free one on Amazon. Let me check. Yep - M.R. Polish's The Ageless Sea.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
This does not happen to me anymore.. haha. I need sleep, so I get it. Probably was a book I was editing, too. Perhaps either Caisey Quinn or Elizabeth Lee kept me up too late recently. Hmm, not sure. ;o)
This was fun!! Big thanks to Jamie at The Perpetual Page-Turner for putting this together for us. I hope you enjoyed reading mine and will participate as well. Link me to yours in a comment so I can read!
