Hello! Welcome to day two of the 15-Day Book Blogger Challenge!
Today is all about my bedtime reading ritual. And honestly, I wish I had one. Most nights I'm up editing until about 7 pm, which is generally bedtime around here since I get up at 3:30 am during the week. Weekend nights are usually over around 8-9, sometimes 10 if I'm working hard or really into the book I'm editing. Like I've mentioned in previous posts, I do not get to read much for fun anymore. This is mostly because I take on a lot of editing, but that's my job and I love it. I work another job and go to school, so my reading really only happens when I edit. Sometimes I listen to books at work, but those have been few and far between these days. Either way, right now I edit until I go to bed. I close my laptop and sleep.

3:30 AM? O_O HOW? I could not. How do you find any time for reading? I am impressed at your ability to survive this punishing schedule.
ReplyDeleteRight? Bahahaha. I'm SO used to it by now. NBD. But yeah.. I have a lot going on! :o)
DeleteI understand going to bed early - I *like* trying to go to bed between 8 and 9 (particularly during the school year) because I get up at five. I try to read for a few minutes when I finally settle down in bed because it makes my eyes heavy. More often than not (read: pretty much every night) I fall asleep with my Kindle in my hands.
ReplyDeleteI FEEL much better when I go to bed early and get up early. But that's nothing to do with reading. (:
I'm glad that works for you! By the time I get into bed, it's definitely time to just fall asleep. :o)
DeleteWow, your schedule is intense, girl! I try to limit how much I'm online or on my computer at night, because if I'm on late, then I find I don't sleep well. But sometimes if I'm working on a chapter, I just want to get it written and I do end up pulling a late night.
ReplyDeleteIf I were up so early, you can bet I would be in bed right about then, too! It must be hard to squeeze reading time into such a bust editing schedule, but it's great that you get to do what you love. Everyone mentions listening to audio books (even if infrequently, like you) that I am slowly starting to consider trying them out! :D
