When a Six saved Kale's life the night of Sumrun, she warned there would be consequences. A trade-off. Something taken for the life they gained. But Dez never imagined she'd lose the one thing she'd give anything to keep... And as if it's not enough Dez finds her immunity to Kale fading, the Six brought in to help Kale learn to control his killer touch starts drooling on him the moment they meet. Worse than that? Jade can touch Kale. But bimbo Barbie is the least of Dez's problems.

After Dez and Kale got away at Sumrun, her father lost not only his most powerful weapon but an important piece of the Supremacy project. Forced by Denazen to remedy the situation, he poisons Dez and offers her a choice--surrender to Denazen for the cure...or die. Determined to find a solution that doesn't involve being bagged and tagged--or losing someone she loves--Dez keeps the poison a secret. But when a rash of Denazen attacks hit a little too close to home, Dez is convinced there's a traitor among them. Jade.

Sacrifices, broken promises, and secrets. Dez will have to lay it all on the line if there's any hope of proving Jade's guilt before they all end up Residents of Denazen. Or worse, dead...

Top Ten Fictional Heroines
by Jus Accardo

I’m a sucker for strong women. I like my heroines tough with a side of snark and an in-your-face attitude. Here’s a list of my top ten faves (in no particular order!)

  1. Elena Michaels – Elena is a character in Kelley Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld novels. She’s strong, independent, and will fight to the death for those she loves. Check out the series here.
  2. Charley Davidson – Charley is a private investigator, Grim Reaper, and all around awesome chick. If you haven’t checked out the series—what are you waiting for!? Investigate Darynda Jones’ killer series here.
  3. Mercedes Thompson – Mercy is a Walker—a coyote shifter—and mechanic. Combination of serious win! Check out Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series here.
  4. Suze Simon – Suze can roll with the punches. She sees the dead—and even kind of dates one! Check out Meg Cabot’s Mediator books here.
  5. Dru Anderson - Dru comes from a world where females of her kind are rare and normally fawned over. That’s not her style, though. She was raised to beat down supernatural baddies. You can read more about Lili St. Crow’s Strange Angels series here.
  6. Faythe Sanders – Faythe comes from another world where women are coddled and protected—but she just isn’t having it. Faythe likes to run with the big dogs—or, cats, as the case is—and can kick ass with the best of them. Prowl Rachel Vincent’s Shifter books here.
  7. Cat Crawfield – Cat is just awesome. Part human, part vampire, all badass. Plus, she has Bones. Seriously. Tell me you don’t envy her? Sink your teeth into Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress books here.
  8. Rose Hathaway – Rose is a force of nature. Loyal and dedicated, she’s from Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy Series which, on the off chance you’ve been living under a rock, can check out here.
  9. Claudia Donovan – Claudia isn’t actually a book character. She’s an agent on the TV show Warehouse 13 and totally rocks my world. Checkout Warehouse 13 on the SyFy channel here.
  10. Evie – Evie craves a normal teenage life. School, friends—boys. But balancing her desires for normalcy with her obligations as an agent of IPCA doesn’t always go over smoothly. Look into the Paranormalcy Series here.

What about you guys? Who’s your favorite fictional heroine?
