Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly bookish top tens. This week's list is - top ten authors in X category. I'm choosing five paranormal romance and five contemporary authors. But of course I couldn't stick to only ten. Here we go!
Paranormal Romance Authors:
- Richelle Mead - Her Georgina Kincaid series is by far my favorite paranormal romance read!
- Jeaniene Frost - Cat and Bones.. 'nuff said!
- Charlaine Harris - Sookie and Harper are fantastic series if you like paranormal romance. They're both different from each other.
- Karen Marie Moning - She has a couple great series out: the Highlander series and the Fever series. They're both full of hot men and awesome.
- Rachel Vincent - This is due to her Soul Screamer series. While it's not necessarily one of my absolute favorites, this series got me so emotional while listening to them, I have to include her.
Contemporary Authors:
- Janet Evanovich - Even though Stephanie Plum is 19 books in and some of her books are formulaic, I love her humor and characters!
- Nicholas Sparks - He's written so many books that make me feel so many emotions. Mmmhmm.
- Jodi Picoult - Her books always spark conversation in a way that others don't. She writes on taboo topics with unreal outcomes. Love her!
- Meg Cabot - Goodness I love her stuff! She's funny and cute, and a lot of the time I just want to read a good Meg Cabot romance. MMM!
- Kieran Scott - She's a YA author, and she writes under different names. Her books are addicting, whether they're the light, funny type of the serious, dramatic type. Love her stuff.
- Emily Giffin - If you haven't read her stuff, you absolutely need to. Seriously!
So yeah.. if you haven't read anything by any of these authors, you probably should. Definitely check them out. Please let me know what you think of my list. Leave me a link to yours! Happy Tuesday!
I've missed the last three Janet Evanovich books. I used to read these every summer when a friend bought the books the day they came out and then passed them on. Then my friend got a Kindle. :-(
