I had THE best time at the David Levithan and Rachel Cohn author signing at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe last night! I actually went by myself, which is something I don't normally do, but the timing worked out for my boyfriend and me since he had something to do in the area as well (I live about 40 miles from the store). The authors read from their respective books and then did a question and answer session before signing everyone's books. It was a pretty fun experience, as the chemistry between the two authors (who have co-written three books together) was hilarious to watch. They're some really cool, open, honest authors. Here are the pictures of the evening!

This is Rachel and David together. He was talking, so his eyes are closed. Whoops! |
 |
This is Rachel talking about her new book, Beta. She said it was a much different experience writing this one rather than her usual genre and topic. She enjoys writing these new books a lot! |

David read a chapter from Every Day. If you haven't read this one, I suggest you do. Or give the audio book a try! |

Here I am in the middle of Rachel and David! Great people. |

David's signature is there in the blue above Adam Rex's alien/ghost thing and under Veronica Roth's autograph. |

Rachel wasn't sure where to sign, and I showed her a spot under the flap of my nook cover. What she wrote there is classic. Thanks Rachel! |
So there you have it. I had a blast chatting it up with fellow readers about other books they've enjoyed, and meeting the authors was a great experience. I asked my standard question about audio books because I always feel like I need to represent. It brought about one of the funniest moments at the signing, after Rachel mentioned she had to take a long distance drive and listening to a book read by Debra Winger. David then said something along the lines of, "Oh yeah, I have a nine hour drive. I think I'll listen to some Russian literature. THAT will keep me awake!" Hahaha! Rachel defended it, and I'm glad she likes them. I love audio books because they keep me going at work, but I know they're not for everyone. No biggie! I just always ask.
That's about it. I had a great time and I wanted to share it with you all. Hopefully you can catch some great author signings and have as much fun as I did! Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
I love to see when people go to book signings. And I really love how you have everyone sign your Nook. What a good idea! Do you take the cover off when you read your nook??? I probably would! :)
