Top Ten Tuesday - Memorable Quotes

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly bookish top tens. This week's list is - top ten favorite quotes from books. I love to read, but I'm terrible at remembering things! So this list is hard for me. Good thing Goodreads has a nifty quotes page for most books. I have a few saved that I'm using for this list. Enjoy!

  1. Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice
“An unhappy alternative is before you, Elizabeth. From this day you must be a stranger to one of your parents. Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you do.” - Mr. Bennett
  2. Laura Wiess - How It Ends
"No roll in the hay is worth losing what I've got." Hanna's father
  3. Cecelia Ahern - PS, I Love You
"Don't be afraid to fall in love again. Open your heart and follow where it leads you...and remember, shoot for the moon. PS, I will always love you." - Gerry
  4. Richelle Mead - Succubus Blues
"Love is rarely flawless. Humans delude themselves by thinking it has to be. It is the imperfection that makes love perfect." - Carter
  5. Janet Evanovich - Seven Up
“Is that a bulletproof vest? See, now that's so insulting. That's like saying I'm not smart enough to shoot you in the head." Eddie DeChooch
  6. Janet Evanovich - One for the Money
“I'm telling you, it's fucking hard to be classy”
  7. Stephanie Perkins - Anna and the French Kiss
“For the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home.”
  8. Jess Rothenberg - The Catastrophic History of You and Me
“News flash, Bozo. Don't ever tell a girl to relax. It only makes us madder.”
  9. Cormac McCarthy - The Road
“You forget what you want to remember, and you remember what you want to forget.”
  10. Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
  11. Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice
“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” - Mr. Darcy *swoon*

Of course I couldn't stop at 10. I tried to not keep adding P&P quotes, but I just couldn't help it. I adore that book immensely! Anyway, I hope you liked my quotes. Maybe they amused you. Maybe they are inspiring you to read a book on this list that you haven't yet read. Whatever it does, thanks for reading! Let me sneak a peek at your list! Happy Tuesday :o)

  2. I love P&P!! I can totally see why you added so many quotes, the whole book is practically quotable! The movie was on TV the other night and i watched it. Love that. Your other quotes are all quotable as well! Great post!!

  3. I had a hard time picking just one P&P quote too - and it isn't even the best of them. Ah, well. I guess I just need to read it again.
