After their long summer apart, Ally and Jake were hoping for a drama free senior year. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like things will work out that way...again. — It turns out that Chloe is pregnant and says that Jake is the father. Hammond is pissed at his best friend, but mostly can't believe that Ally would stay with Jake. But Ally is tired of being apart from Jake and is willing to make it work. But that is easier said than done when Jake starts blowing Ally off to go to doctor's appointments with Chloe and Ally joins the school play and meets a new cute guy.
But as graduation approaches, things get more complicated as new secrets come out and Ally realizes maybe Jake isn't the guy she thought he was. After everything they've been through can Ally and Jake get out of Orchard Hill with their relationship intact?
I bought this book on Amazon.com. Here is my honest review:
I've been a fan of Kieran Scott's for years now. I've enjoyed her work under her pen name, Kate Brian. And after finishing up this series, I hope she has a long, long career. Man, can she tug at your heartstrings and get you so addicted to a story! What a great series. So sad to see it end, but at least that gigantic cliffhanger has been solved and put to rest. At the end of He's So Not Worth It, the reader is left with his/her mouth WIDE open in shock, begging for the next novel. Now that it's here, we can read on to find out what happens in the aftermath that is This Is So Not Happening. And boy, it's juicy!
We find Ally and Jake dealing with Chloe, making this a triangle no one wants to be in. Ally handles it like a champ, and Jake just becomes obsessive. I've been in Ally's shoes, and I GTFO fast. So a lot of this hit close to home and broke my heart. I cried and laughed and wanted to punch people, but all of that is GOOD. This book evokes so much emotion! Every time Jake and Ally turn around there is more drama, more chaos, and more lies. Hammond, Annie, Quinn, Gray, Ally's parents, Chloe, and the whole gang make appearances and bring about more drama and action for Ally and Jake. But finally it all comes to a head, and the end is SO bittersweet.
I read this in one sitting. All in almost four hours. I just couldn't put it down while Jake and Ally were in such a mess. I absolutely HAD to know what was going to happen to them. And I'm so glad I did. Even though I was pretty sure how some of it was going to turn out, it didn't matter. It was becoming more and more important to me that Ally and Jake make it through the mess they found themselves in. This series wraps up nicely, so keep on reading even when the drama is too much to handle. I'm not a re-reader, but I can see myself rereading this series over and over. I enjoyed it that much.
What I liked:
- Everything. Haha okay okay.. I'll be more specific.
- Ally. She's frustrating, but she really gets it done when she needs to. She's stubborn and smart and funny.
- Jake. Mostly for the beginning and end of the book, but I'm not giving anything away. See below, as well.
- The end. Awwwwww. And Quinn/Annie?! Yeah!
- The month dividers. Those summaries things nicely! It's all catty gossip, but they really help out the story! I liked those things :o)
- Jake. Yeah, he's a douche throughout some of this book. It was called for at some times, but in others he just gets out of control. Oy.
- Chloe. Yeah.. this too. But Ally is so forgiving and it really made me think about my own life and how forgiving I am vs. should be.
- DRAMA. It's in caps because I honestly hate it. Obviously that's what drives books, but the drama in this book hit close to home, so I cried a few times. But "this too shall pass" lives on!
Bottom line: READ THIS SERIES if it's the last thing you do. Mmmhmm.
