Sophia @ The Book Basement

Mickey: Hi there, Sophia! Welcome to the blog! Please introduce yourself.
Sophia: Hi, Mickey! Thanks for having me. My name is Sophia and I'm a young adult book blogger. I have an obsession with YA books, particularly the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. I'm 14 years old, so I suppose I'm younger than most book bloggers, but I think that's okay. I love talking to fellow bloggers on Twitter and discussing bookish things. Besides reading/blogging, I like writing and trying out graphic design, albeit I'm pretty bad at both, haha.
Mickey: How long have you been blogging? What made you create your blog?
Sophia: I started my blog in April of 2010, but I definitely took it extremely lightly. I rarely posted and forgot about it most of the time. But in August of 2011, I decided to take blogging seriously and joined the blogging community permanently. Reading blogs like The Story Siren made me want to create my blog. Kristi made it look like so much fun--and it really is!
Mickey: I see LOTS of stuff about Divergent/Insurgent. Tell us why you love that series so much! :o)
Sophia: Haha! I'm definitely and utterly in love with the Divergent trilogy. As to why I love it so much... is "OMG EVERYTHING IS JUST PERFECT" an acceptable answer? No? Well, I think it's the perfect mixture of well fleshed out characters and a gripping plot!
Mickey: Besides Veronica Roth, who are some of your favorite authors?
Sophia: It's difficult to not list dozens of authors! To name a few, I really love J.K. Rowling, Lauren Oliver, Ally Carter, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Stephanie Perkins, and John Green. I could really go on and on, though.
Mickey: If you could pick one author, dead or alive, to be best friends with, who would you choose?
Sophia: Goodness, I think the answer to this question is fairly obvious, haha. Veronica Roth, for sure! She's so kind and intelligent! Plus, if I were her best friend, I might have a sneak peek at the draft for Divergent #3!
Mickey: What would you title the story of your life?
Sophia: As my life is not yet complete, I'm not quite sure. Maybe I'd leave it Untitled.
Mickey: Using only three words, describe your blog.
Sophia: Opinionated, candid, bookish.
Mickey: Who is your favorite fictional villain? Couple? Character in general?
Sophia: My favorite villain is probably Housemaster Vaughn from the Chemical Garden trilogy by Lauren DeStefano because he is creepy as heck. Ugh, I get shivers just thinking about his name. My favorite couple is definitely Tris and Tobias from Divergent. And my favorite character in general is Anna from Anna and the French Kiss! Seriously. I want Anna to be my best friend.
Mickey: If you weren't blogging, what would you be doing?
Sophia: Right at this moment: studying. I have end of course exams that I swear I'm going to fail. Eek! In the long run: writing, probably. I like writing quite a lot, and I would love for at least one of my work-in-progresses to become complete.
Mickey: Thanks so much for being on the blog today! Any final thoughts?
Sophia: Again, thank you for having me, Mickey! I love your questions and your blog. I hope you and your readers have a fantastic day!
