Reading Blues: We all get them from time to time. What helps you overcome those reading slumps when nothing seems to grab your attention?
Man oh man, I've been in quite a few reading slumps lately! It happens, it really does. I've just been really busy lately! The only thing you can do sometimes is to keep trying until you find something that reminds you just why you love reading so much. For me, I usually need to step back for a bit, do some other stuff for a while, and then go back to books. I'll pick one I've heard some good things about, or I'll pick one that I've heard very little able. Sometimes books with lots of hype don't live up to it, so books that have no hype going on catch me off guard with how good they are. Sometimes. :o)
It really is a personal preference on how to get over a slump, but those tactics work for me for the most part. Sometimes it's just reading in general that isn't interesting me. If that's the case, then I just need a break. I'll always come back to it because it's just a great hobby, but no one can do the same thing ALL the time! It happens. Hopefully we all overcome it when it goes occur. :o)
How do YOU get over a reading slump? Leave me a link to let me know what you do! Happy weekend!
Taking a break sure helps, especially if you've been reading the same type of genre for too long. Old follower.

I feel like the only one not in a slump! I guess it's a good thing, but I feel lonely on this side of the line! :)

I completely understand, and agree that taking a break sometimes helps. Though my problem is often different... usually I WANT to read, but just can't find the time. So it's very rare that I need a break from reading... more like I'm craving it!! ;)
