TGIF and Week In Review (36)

Social Networking: Do you use Twitter or Facebook to promote your blog? How has it benefited your book blogging experience? If not, how do you promote your blog? Share your twitter handle and/or Facebook link!


I used both a lot at first! I've since been pretty absent from both Facebook and Twitter, but that's mostly because life got in the way. I'm now also couponing and working 60 or so hours a week for a month or two now. I'm exhausted and have no time to read my timelines or interact too much. I always try to get back to wall posts and @ replies, but that's about it. Networked Blogs does a lot of the work for me and posts to FB and Twitter when I post to my blog, so I do use both to promote.

Back when I was using both FB and Twitter excessively (which I was.. lol), I definitely felt like it was beneficial. I've made some absolutely awesome friendships and relationships with some fabulous authors, bloggers, and readers. It's been great. Spreading the word through social media about my blog has helped me gain followers, and people have actually reached out to me instead of me having to do the reaching out. It's been a truly awesome experience, and both Twitter and Facebook are awesome tools.

    Nice! I don't use either, but lately I've been thinking about Twitter, just need to know what I would use it for. What does a book blogger tweet?

    Twitter and Facebook are definitely handy for social networking. I have them too, but don't use them as nearly as I'd like - I may try to fix that! Have a great weekend! :)

    Agreed on all accounts. When I first started using twitter (before I was blogging), I was spending way too much time on it, to the extent that it was affecting my real life and family, so I had to step back and cut down on social networking a bit. Nowadays, I'm on it only a few hours a day (1 or 2) to catch up with readers, authors, and bloggers, and to share when I'm at events or when I receive a really awesome book.
