Top Ten Tuesday - Heartbreaking Books


Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly top tens. This week's list is - top ten books that broke my heart a little. This list is sure to bring pain to my heart just writing it. If any of you have read these novels, please let me know if you felt the same way. *sigh*

  1. Tabitha Suzuma - Forbidden
    Uh, WOW. Yeah. This is deep, sad story.
  2. Nicholas Sparks - A Walk to Remember
    The end gets me every time. Even the movie. *tear*
  3. Jodi Picoult - My Sister's Keeper
    I wish the end of the movie was the same as the book. It's a terribly heartbreaking end.
  4. Stieg Larsson - The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
    Lisbeth's story is painful and so sad.
  5. Laini Taylor - Daughter of Smoke and Bone
    Karou goes through a lot in her life. The whole thing makes me sad.
  6. Emma Donoghue - Room
    I can't even imagine growing up the way that kid did. WOW.
  7. Laura Wiess - How It Ends
    Helen's sickness just broke me. I don't want to get sick. :o(
  8. Holly Cupala - Don't Breathe a Word
    Joy's story on the streets really makes you think, reminds you of the real world.
  9. Caroline Bock - Lie
    These kids' idea of fun hits close to home, living in the southwest. Hurts my brain.
  10. Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games
    The whole idea of Hunger Games is upsetting to think about, and I don't have kids.
  11. Richelle Mead - Georgina Kincaid series
    These books seriously made me cry. The end was worth the emotional journey though.

Man.. I almost want to cry just thinking of all these novels. I didn't love them all, but they're all definitely sad at times and heartbreaking. Let me know what your list has. Leave me a link! Happy Tuesday!

  1. Fabulous heart -wrenching list. Don't Breathe A Word. My heart broke for how low that poor girl thought of herself to do things she let him do to her.

    That line from the movie (A Walk to Remember) gets me every single time I watch it.
