But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
I had some high hopes for this, and since it was nothing like I was expecting at ALL, it totally lived up to the hype! And MAN, if you all could have seen my face when the big shocker happened towards the end there. I was in my car, trying to save my Famous Dave's leftover box from crashing to the floor when it happened, and I totally just froze. I was in total shock! I couldn't believe that I didn't see it coming. But what a great cliffhanging ending to this book. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one!!!
Listening to this one is very enjoyable as well. The narrator (Rebecca Soler) has a pretty smooth voice, and her pronunciation is consistent throughout the novel. Her male voices weren't as good as the female ones. The robot ones were great, though. But either way I really liked her narration and would definitely listen to another book she reads. I hope they keep her reading the books in this series! Looking forward to the sequel :o)
Bottom line: Check this one out for a 21st century spin on Cinderella and a great, creative YA story!
This really was a great audiobook. I find that when I listen to an audiobook, I critique the reader just as much as the story itself.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the reader for this book. The only issue I had with her was the way she pronounced New Beijing. lol
Her robot voices were great, though!
I totally agree with the Beijing thing! It's not a hard J.. LOL. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you enjoyed this one too! I absolutely loved Cinder and I can't wait until the next book, Scarlett is released. :D
