Author Signing: Tahereh Mafi and Veronica Rossi (And Giveaway!)

Oh my goodness, you guys. I had THE best day yesterday!! We're very lucky here in Arizona to get a lot of great author signings at our independent bookstores, and yesterday's Dark Days book signing was (please excuse my fangirling..) of EPIC proportions. It included Tahereh Mafi (Shatter Me), Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky), and Ellen Schreiber (Vampire Kisses). I'd already met Ellen Schreiber (when she had dark hair.. hehe) at the previous Dark Days tour, so I didn't visit with her this time. Here are my chronicles of the amazing event!

My friends Audra (above) and Deanna went with me. We had lunch at the Wildflower Cafe before the event. Meeting up with them is always fun. It was nice to chill with the girls before the signing. With the couponing, I barely get out anymore! Haha. But a REALLY great part was that I got to meet up with some fellow Arizona book bloggers!! Check this out!!

That's Jenny and Kaitlin from Books to the Sky!! They are AMAZING chicks, and we're going to meet up at YAllapalooza on the 28th for more author signings! I can't wait. It was great to meet them and get all of our stuff signed together. We also met Bailey from IBBookBlogging! Overall, it was a great book blogger meeting day :o)

So then the authors came out to talk and answer some questions. They were totally fun and gave some great answers.. except for when I asked Tahereh Mafi if there was a title for Shatter Me #2.. haha! She can't say yet, but we're all super excited for it! Here are some pictures of the Q&A.





After the Q&A, we put our chairs away and got in line for the signing!! We all skipped over Ellen Scheiber because the line was pretty long, and like I said, I'd met her before. Veronica Rossi and Tahereh Mafi were SUPER nice and took pictures and chatted with us about their books. Then they signed bookmarks, post cards, and my nook cover!! After they took pictures with us, they signed some stuff. I got my nook cover signed, like always. And the wonderful ladies signed some bookmarks and post cards to give away on the blog! I'd love to give away books, but I barely buy them for myself. Sorry y'all! ;o) Also, we shared bird tattoos! I showed them my Incubus - A Crow Left of the Murder tattoo on my left shoulder. YAY! So here are pictures of my signed nook cover and the swag they signed!!

Tahereh Mafi was jealous of the Veronica Roth signature and wanted to keep my nook cover. It killed me to say no, but I worked hard for these babies! ;o) Mafi signed in the bottom right in silver. The one with the smiley face is Schreiber from the first time I saw her.

Veronica Rossi's signature is upside down on the right side. Did you all know she's actually also a painter? Amazing!

Here's the swag! Those are Shatter Me post cards and Under the Never Sky bookmarks! All are signed by the respective authors. The bookmark in the middle is a signed Shatter me bookmark :o)
