Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly top tens. This week's list is - top ten books whose titles or covers made me buy them. I'm not a huge book-buyer. I like to get them from the library, or lately, win them from giveaways when I can. But there are definitely times when I buy books, and it's usually because I loved them, REALLY want to read them, or think they'd look great on my bookshelf. Here's my list of badass book titles and covers, in no particular order.
Cover:

Jane Austen: Seven Novels
(Looks MUCH cooler in person and on my bookshelf)

Those flowers are gorgeous!

Coffee table book!

Of course. Fun covers!

I love Julie Andrews, and I love this picture of her!

I would have bought it anyway because it's Brandon Boyd,
but this cover is way cool. :o)

Title:

Mr. Darcy, Vampyre

This is both cover and title. I love them equally as much.

The Accidental Virgin. How can you NOT buy this?
Note: I still haven't read it though. lol
So there you have it! I've made some weird, random choices at used book stores, but they all look fab on my bookshelf. Leave me a link to your list! Happy Tuesday!

I love Julie Andrews too. Great covers.
ReplyDeleteJane Austen Seven Novels is indeed very pretty. I can well imagine it looks fabulous on your book shelf.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, the Brandon Boyd book. Wow wow wow. I'm SUCH A FAN.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the cover of The Time Traveler's Wife too. I haven't read it before, but I do have it checked out of the library (I'm a library gal myself, not much of a huge buyer.) and I'm reading it VERY SLOWLY. I was surprised to see it on the NPR 100 Sci-Fi/Fantasy list recently. That's why I finally decided to pick it up. And I immediately loved it, and that's why I'm reading it slowly.

Sometimes I think I need a bigger coffee table. I love coffee table books so much! I love pretty pictures :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cover for Mr. Darcy Vampire! (And the title) I haven't read it, but I love the original specifically Mr. Darcy. Why can't there be more men like him around today?
