Top Ten Tuesday - Mind-blowing Endings and Cliffhangers

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly top tens. This week's list is - top ten books that left me with my mouth hanging open! This could be because of the mind-blowing ending or a crazy cliffhangers. I've read quite a few books lately where I just couldn't believe the ending. Either I couldn't believe how it ended or where it ended. So check out my list of cliffhangers and mind-shattering endings ;o)

This one is all about the cliffhanger. Oh my goodness. You have to read She's So Dead To Us first, but then check this one out and be amazed and frustrated at the same time by Scott's masterpiece of a cliffhanger. OH. MY. Goodness.

Atonement is one of those endings that you don't see coming. I had no clue. I did it wrong, because I started the book and wasn't sure, so I watched the movie and LOVED it. Finished the book right after and LOVED that too.

I read this book fast because it's original, fresh, and amazing! I just couldn't put it down. And by the time I got to the end, I was left wanting so much more! I absolutely cannot wait for Asylum!

This ending was just out of control! I won't spoil anything, but if you've seen the movie, then you DO NOT know the ending of this book! They are very different. VERY different. WOW. I wasn't shocked that they changed it for Hollywood, because the book's ending is hard to handle. Good luck.

This is the final book in the series, and it ends in such a way that leaves you thinking, "WHAT THE EFF??" It's nothing like that you'd think. It's not a heavy ending to a light series, it's just SUPER confusing and TOTALLY out of nowhere!

This whole series left you breathless by the ends of the novels. If you've read it you know. If you haven't, buckle up. I just recently read it and had no idea what to expect. Even if you think you know, you don't. I was glad they were all out because it would suck having to wait!!

Oliver leaves this one wide open for the next one. There's no conclusion or semi-wrap-up for the next book at all. I really enjoyed this one, so I'm on pins and needles waiting for Pandemonium. Just by the name.. I can tell it's going to be good!!

Hannibal the book ends NOTHING like Hannibal the movie. If you've seen the movie, I should warn you that you'll want to remember THAT ending and not the book ending. I can't get it out of my head, and it's just plain weird! Good book though.

The 5th book in the Night Huntress series ends with a cliffhanger! I was sad about a certain something, but then it gets thrown in your face in a different way at the end there. Totally made you bite your nails until you read #6 and it all gets explained. Good stuff.

I saw the movie before I read the book, and they're the exact same thing except the ending of the movie goes beyond the book. So I guess I wasn't shocked by the order of events in the novel, but the ending is supposed to blow your mind. I suppose you can kind of see it coming, but it's still good.

The end of this one will make you wish on shooting stars, eyelashes, and even black cats for the next one. Gahhh I can't wait! I just posted a cover reveal for the sequel too, so go check it out!

So that's my list! And of course I couldn't keep it to only 10. Let me know what you think and leave me your list as a link in a comment. I'll try to come check it out. Happy Tuesday!

  1. Descended by Blood looks so good. Love a great cliffhanger, but love it better when I have the next book sitting there.

  2. I agree with you about The Hunger Games. I might also need to check out She's So Dead To Us and He's So Not Worth It. Once again, Delirium continues to sit on my shelf going "Read me!", too. Great list and nice blog! :)

  3. I definitely agree on Hunger Games. Collins knows how to pace books for prime interest.

  5. I couldn't believe the ending to Delirium. I liked it, but I almost wish I had waited until the second one was out to read it. I had to wait with the Hunger Games series and that was so hard! :)

  6. The Hunger Games is an amazing series. Catching Fire has the best ending (in a cliffhanger sort of way) by far!

  8. Great books! I just finished the Hunger Games series- and I loved them all. I still can't stop thinking about them. Like you, I was glad they were all out already. I also reallu enjoyed My Sister's Keeper- well I thought it was well-written, I spent a lot of time crying throughout it- so enjoyed might not be the right word. :) Anathema looks fascinating!
