Top Ten Tuesday - Books Everyone Has Read But Me

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, this feature includes random weekly top tens. This week's list is - top ten books everyone else seems to have read but me! I've been fixing this lately by finally reading The Hunger Games series and starting Harry Potter, but there are still some I need to finally read because everyone else has! Here's my list :o)
  1. JK - Rowling - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (HP7)
Okay, so I also haven't read 5 or 6 either, but I'll just mention the last one because that's really what's popular right now. The last movie came out, and I'm honestly tempted to just watch those. I wasn't thrilled with the first four to read three more LONG books! Also, I'm huge on spoilers, and I've seen a bunch on Twitter so I have no desire if I already know how they go. Gahh.
  2. Richelle Mead - Vampire Academy series
I have nothing against vampires, YA, or Richelle Mead, so someone please explain why I haven't read this one? I guess I can. I tried to listen (because I love audio books) but I didn't like it. The audio book, that is. I'd read these, but I have. No. TIME! :o)
  3. Megan McCafferty - Sloppy Firsts
This one comes highly recommended by Ginger @ GReads! and Anna @ Anna Reads, so obviously I need to read this one. I think I will when I'm on vacation next week, perhaps. Hopefully. I mentioned before, no time, but with vacation I plan on reading a LOT. This one should be worth it.
  4. Mark Zusak - The Book Thief
Looking at Goodreads, I can see that just about all my bookish friends have read this one. AND everyone RAVES about it. I even OWN it! So why haven't I read it? No clue. Vacation read!
  5. J.R. Ward - Black Dagger Brotherhood series
Pretty sure everyone has read this but me. I've heard lots of good things, and I'd really like to listen to this one, but I've been encouraged to read it. Hmm. We'll see!
  6. Ray Bradbury - Fahrenheit 451
I didn't have to read this one in school so I didn't and still haven't. I would definitely like to someday. I'll get there. When things slow down. Yeah, right. ;o)
  7. Stephanie Perkins - Anna and the French Kiss
This is probably the first vacation book I have planned to read. Everyone loves this one. I'm afraid that it won't live up to the hype, but I'm still super excited!
  8. Aimee Carter - The Goddess Test
Everyone has liked this one too. I have it on my nook and everything but just haven't read it yet. Another one I'll get to some day.
  9. Stieg Larsson - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Not sure why I haven't read this one either. I have it on audio and should listen to it soon. We'll see! I've heard mixed things, so maybe that's why I've been slow with this one.
  10. Kady Cross - The Girl in the Steel Corset
Lots of my bookish friends on Goodreads have read this one and enjoyed it. I have yet to read a steampunk novel (I think.. still not 100% on what that is again..) so I'd like this one to be my first.
What do you think of my list? Want to persuade me to read one of these sooner? Which one can you absolutely NOT believe I haven't read? Sometimes I can't believe I'm so slow in the book world, but it is what it is! Harry Potter never grabbed me, and I still almost don't see the attraction. And like I said, things have been spoiled, so I was really disappointed and immediately unmotivated to keep going. Is watching the movies a good alternative? As for the rest, a couple I'm super excited about and will hopefully get to those soon! I hate having a list like this ;o)

  1. I totally couldn't leave Harry hanging out in limbo land. I know the books are large, but they read like popcorn. Anna & the French Kiss is like watching a Christmas movie like The Family Stone. Warm & Fuzzy. I really liked The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was different from anything I thought I would pick up. It is dark, but the mystery/triller is great.

  4. Great list! I'm hoping to get to the BDB books this week as I read and loved the first but never got any further. They are always being mentioned though!

  6. The audio book for the first VA book is awful. I listened to it while I was at work a few weeks ago. It was dreadful. The second is better, but I highly recommend reading the books! :D

  7. Yay! Another person who hasn't read BDB! I thought I was truly the only one ... well that would put it on their list anyway. ;)

  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has yet to read the Vampire Academy series! It seems like quite a few people still need to read it (including myself). You gotta read the BDB series!!

Hope you get to read all of these soon :)
