Banned Books: How do you feel about the censorship of the freedom to read? Do you think the education system needs to be more strict on what children are exposed to in books?
I think the freedom to read should be preserved. No one should be censoring books or choosing what can't be read. Parents can make that decision for their children until they're old enough, but I also think that parents should trust their children to make the right decisions. Banning books only makes those censored topics more taboo, and they're generally the ones that kids may relate to more. They're the topics that make kids feel alone and isolated without things like books to help them get through. If they censor, drastic measures sometimes take place. In my opinion, things would be a whole lot different if we did not shelter our world's future leaders.
