Book Blogger Appreciation Week: Readers

Today's topic is READING! It's what we book bloggers do best. And my reading habits have definitely changed since I started blogging. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

  • Has book blogging changed the way you read?
It has changed the way I read. I tend to read a little faster now. I have the need to get through books faster, so I try to read a little bit quicker.
  • Have you discovered books you never would have apart from book blogging?
I'm not sure, actually. I would imagine the answer is yes, but it's hard to tell. I've always been a reader, and I love to find new stuff: books, authors, formats. I believe that blogging has lead me down paths on which I may have never traveled, but who knows. I think that I might not have read a lot of the debut authors this year as soon as I did.
  • How has book blogging affected your book acquisition habits?
I have so many different ways to get books now! Galley Grab, Net Galley, and authors themselves provide me with plenty to read that I didn't have before. They're fabulous resources. Giveaways are spectacular, too! Book bloggers are so generous in their sharing.
  • Have you made new connections with other readers because of book blogging?
In one word: absolutely! I feel like I have a whole new set of great friends because of the blogging community. Just about everyone is so nice and awesome, and since we blog about books we also like to talk about them on Twitter and such! Big resounding yes to this question!
Basically, I love the book blogging community and how it's changed my reading habits. I love the new people, resources, and connections it has provided me with. Everything about it is fantastic, except that sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed. I'll take it though! Bring it on! Thanks to everyone who makes this community awesome!! :o)

  3. I definitely read faster now, too -- or at least, I get through a lot more books. And I love all the new sources of books. There are so many it's hard to keep up sometimes!

  4. I love blogging about my books too! I feel like I have definitely branched out and read some different books than I probably would have on my own. Getting free books (whether winning them or from publishers) helps me give something a chance I may not have picked up otherwise. =)
