Today's topic is blogging! Tried and true practices that work for bloggers and new trends that I'd love to see happen and/or work for bloggers. It's all basically the same advice from earlier in the week, but it bears repeating. They're good ideas for new bloggers. Let's get to it!
Best Practices:

Best Practices:
- Participating in memes. This really helps to connect you with other bloggers. That always helps to gain new followers, find new reads, and make new connections.
- Using social media. Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr/etc help to get your message out there. They help spread the word, especially with RTs and others sharing your message.
- Giveaways. They gain visitors and followers if you participate in the big blog hops. If you have the means to share, it's good to do so. (Side note: authors and publishers help bloggers with giveaways, so you don't always have to come up with any money for them!)
- Rafflecopter. Man, it's such an easy tool to use! And it takes all the hard stuff out of picking winners and tallying entries!
- Guest posts. I don't always feel like these get the attention they deserve. Authors write posts for bloggers to put up, and I feel like they get the least amount of comments. We'll see how it goes in the future, I guess!
- Audio book giveaways. I absolutely love audio books. They make up a lot of my reading. I was contacted recently by Macmillan Audio and held a giveaway for an audio book. It went over fairly well! I think if I stick to YA audio books I'll have more entries, but I look forward to more audio book giveaways!
I'm not sold on Rafflecopter yet, but I haven't actually tried it for myself, so we'll see! I'm hoping to try out guest posting maybe, too, though I tend to be a little shy in that respect. Audiobook giveaways are a great idea!
