Author Interview: Fola - The Seed

Hello, all! Today on the blog I have Fola, author of The Seed. I have not yet read it, but we completed an interview to help spread the word. Check out the details of his book, and then stay tuned for the author interview below!

Fola - The Seed

• Pub. Date: July 2011
• Publisher: CreateSpace
• Format: Paperback 158pp

Throughout our lives, many things may lead us to forget who we truly are. Result? Slowly yet inevitably, cages and chains enslave our thoughts and slay our freedoms.

Down the ages, men have thus fallen for hosts of illusions, confusions and fears - except for the seven dreamers whose stories this book contains. These mad truth-seekers (who oddly share the same name) did not follow others' flow to slavery; rather, they heeded a voice in their heads that led them to obsession with an idea long thought extinct, buried beneath the sands of time: The Seed.

In this book you will take a rollicking metaphysical ride that starts in ancient Egypt, moves to the Grand Greek Era, then to Rome, Arab Alexandria, on piratic High Seas, to Switzerland and circuses, into a Christian era interlude, then to modern Egypt (2007) and lastly, to a sort of Garden of Visionary Epiphany that will leaves you on and past the brink of enlightenment...

Mickey: Hello and welcome to the blog! Please introduce yourself.
Fola: Thanks Mickey, well, I am Fola, born in Egypt, 1984, around 27 years now, though I don’t really believe in the idea of counting time. I was lost, brainwashed like the majority of earth’s citizens till I went to Switzerland, and had some time alone to see what I couldn’t see. There the
voyage began from furthest branch till I reached “The Seed”.

Mickey: Give me the rundown on your book, The Seed.
Fola: The book is a journey, that will take the reader on a rollicking metaphysical ride that starts in ancient Egypt, moves to the Grand Greek Era, then to Rome, Arab Alexandria, on piratic High Seas, to Switzerland and circuses, into a Christian era interlude, then to modern Egypt (2007) and lastly, to a sort of Garden of Visionary Epiphany that will leave you
on and past the brink of enlightenment...

Mickey: How did you get the cover design? It's gorgeous!
Fola: I worked a lot on the Idea…The open book as “The Seed” and A tree coming out from it, which could also be seen as a Face…I chose the colors and send them to a professional artist and their it is.

Mickey: How long did it take you to write The Seed?
Fola: Seven Years!

Mickey: Do you listen to music or have the TV on for background noise when you write? Or do you need silence?
Fola: Music, mostly soundtracks, it puts me in the mood.

Mickey: If you could work with any author to co-write a book, who would it be?
Fola: Khalil Gibran, but sadly he is dead…maybe Milan Kundera

Mickey: What's the one book you wish you'd written or thought of?
Fola: : “No exit” by Jean Paul Sartre, although I haven’t read it, but I like the idea behind it.

Mickey: What other entertainment do you enjoy?
Fola: Soccer, Playing music…

Mickey: Do you have a favorite genre you like to read?
Fola: I haven’t read a book yet, but I guess inspiration fiction

Mickey: If you weren't an author, what else would you do with life?
Fola: A Soccer player, A maestro or A scientist!

Mickey: Last question! Do you have a last name or just go by Fola?
Fola: Just Fola...its my pen name...

Poet, writer, and philosopher, Fola was born in 1984, in Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs. He spent his childhood in Egypt, then traveled to Switzerland and graduated from Hotel Institute Montreux, in Switzerland.

Montreux was the turning point in Fola’s life, back then he was never fond of writing, nor reading. Fola never intended to be a writer, but at the age of 20, he began recording his distinct thoughts down, for none could understand them.

Papers accrued, as Fola realized that it was meant to be, he combined all these thoughts, and began his writing voyage, with The Seed.
