This week we read chapters 1-5 in Twilight for the re-read along! Ginger @ GReads posted the questions for this week, and the discussion and answers are posted on Lisa's blog today. Here's what I have to say!
1. Have you ever had to start over in a new place, like Bella did in Forks? This new place could be a school, job, or town... just something with a new setting. How easy or difficult was this for you?
I have had to start over. I moved right before high school and had to make all new friends there. I've also started many new jobs and moved quite a few times since. It's not always easy but you make it through.
2. Do you picture the actors from the movie as the characters in the book while you are reading?
I do now. I did not see a picture or a movie trailer before I started reading these books, and I made sure I finished all four before I saw the first movie in theaters. It was so late, too! But I managed to keep my own visions before I saw the movie actors. Now I only see Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. It's almost a shame, but that's okay.
3. What are your first thoughts on meeting Edward in Bella’s Biology class? At first he was annoyed by her presence, but then after a week away he returns & finds himself very interested in her. Do you think this helped or hindered the storyline?
This helped because the story might not have gone on if he hadn't given up on "being good." My first thoughts when I first read this? I can't remember since I have a horrible memory. Now I just start giggling like a school girl on the inside because I totally know what's up! (And if you haven't read the unfinished Midnight Sun you should probably do it now.)
4. Out of the secondary characters Bella meets at school, who is your favorite and why? (I am referring to the humans, not the vampires in this question)
I like Angela because she's shy like Bella and is really nice to her. They get each other in a way.
5. There is a lot of dialogue between Edward and Bella in these first few chapters that I feel played a major role in developing their relationship. What are some of your favorite quotes or moments?
Of course the scene in the parking lot is important, where he saves her from Tyler's van. I love the conversation they have about her theory on what he is. And who doesn't love the whole "What if I'm not a superhero? What if I'm the bad guy?" part. When he decides to go to hell for her, it's a little touching even if she doesn't understand yet. :o)
So leave your links in a comment if you're participating so I can see your answers! I'm looking forward to continuing this one :o)
It had to be hard to move right before high school! I guess at least it was before high school and not during!
ReplyDeleteSome characters I picture as the actors and others I don't. I made a list, haha.
I loved the bit of Midnight Sun we can read :)
Yay Midnight Sun! I so wish she would work on that. Very disappointed in whoever leaked it. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteI will go check out your list! Thanks :o)
Yes Midnight Sun! I am re-reading that as well, because I love hearing both POV =) sooo good
ReplyDeleteGreat answers!!
ReplyDeleteI love Angela too but not in the first five chapters cause you don' t really get to see much of her. I picked Mike. Poor Mike.
Oh I do love Angela too. I had a friend in high school who would always get the others off my back when I didn't feel like being social. Angela gets Bella, and she is totes an unsung hero.
ReplyDeleteGreat answers! I like the superhero/bad guy part too!
ReplyDeleteI love the "What if I'm the bad guy" quote too :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Midnight Sun. Guess I need to hunt it up. Agreed on the lifesaving scene. Because at that point he has decided he likes her alive better than dead.
ReplyDeleteLove you guys and your answers.. thank you for visiting!!!
ReplyDelete"what if I'm the bad guy" pat is one of my fav's. I think it illustrates so clearly how Edward sees himself...
ReplyDeleteI love Midnight Sun. After rereading the first five chapters, I read almost all of Midnight Sun again just because I wanted to, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy Answers
