Q. ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione Granger played by the Emma chick) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would be your first reaction? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.
A. This would probably HAVE to be Colin Firth playing Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, of course.. and I would freak the eff out. Mostly because he's from the 1800s, and because he's Colin Firth. I would definitely have a heart attack of epic proportions. Darcy. Is. Love. <3

Hosted by Crazy For Books in the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word! Click the picture above to visit her website for more info.
Q. What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?
A. The thing that keeps me reading is an emotional connection with the characters. In the first couple pages, I know I'll want to keep reading if I feel like there is enough mystery to keep my interest.. something that will really make me want to find out what happens in the end. What makes me stop? Hardly anything. If I start a book, then I will finish it 99.9% of the time. I honestly can't stand giving up on a book. But if the writing is bad, or I just don't care about the characters, then I'll think about putting it down.
Thanks for stopping by!! Leave me a link with your hops and I'll come check them out :o)

I'll usually finish a book I pick up too. I can usually muddle through even if the book is boring or slow.
ReplyDeleteMmm. Colin Firth. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by for Follow Friday to say hi! Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Mickey! I can't stand giving up on a book either, if I do, it haunts me from the shelf making me wonder if things might have gotten better if I'd stuck it out and then I have to pick it back up to know for sure:) I'm a new follower here and I hope you have a great weekend!

These book blogger hop questions just get better and better. This one looks easy but I think it’s a trick question. We all know it’s the same answer – the writing – but we all have different perspectives of what good writing is.
ReplyDeleteHop on over to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and read my three-prong answer as I explain why I’ll decide to pick up a book or put it down in under sixty seconds.

Colin Firth did rock that character - fun choice for this week Mickey. :) It also takes a lot for me to stop reading a book once I've started it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!! I've been trying to reply on all your blogs :o)
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I think Matthew MacFadyen was better looking as Mr. Darcy (although that's probably because I was a big fan of his through his old show MI-5), but I thought Colin did a great job as Darcy.
