New feature alert! Hosted by Ginger over at G-Reads, TGIF is a way to recap the week on your blog and answer a question she asks to bloggers. Linking up spreads the word, so visit her blog for more info and to participate! :o)

This week's TGIF question is:

What are some of your favorite book quotes?

Oh boy. This could be a long post. I have a seriously bad memory, but that's why I have Goodreads. After looking through the books that I've read, quotes have come back to me. Some are funny, some are sweet, but all were memorable. So here are some of my favorite lines from novels! (And I will try to stay away from Spoilerville!)
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
"In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you." -Mr. Darcy

"An unhappy alternative is before you, Elizabeth. From this day you must be a stranger to one of your parents. Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you do." -Mr. Bennett

  • How It Ends by Laura Wiess
"No roll in the hay is worth losing what I've got." -Hanna's dad

  • Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult
"You know someone's right for you when the things they don't have to say are even more important than the things they do."

"No matter what Joe Hoffman and Wade Preston say, it's not gender that makes a family; it's love. You don't need a mother and a father; you don't necessarily even need two parents. You just need someone who's got your back."

  • Succubus Shadows by Richelle Mead
"Love in the real world doesn’t usually work out the way stories make us think it should. We don’t always get fairy-tale endings. People split up and move on. Just because you love someone doesn’t mean you can’t love someone else.” -Georgina

"Good can still exist when bad things happen, just as evil persists when good things happen.” - Carter

  • This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
"Ask me if I sparkle and I’ll kill you where you stand.” - Bones

"What the hell was that?” I gasped. “Premature inflammation,” he replied. “Happens sometimes. Very embarrassing. I don’t like to talk about it." -Vlad

  • Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos
"Yes, it's true, what I said earlier: A real life doesn't mean getting what you want; the achievement, the privilege, too, is knowing what you love. But getting what you love? Having what you love love you back? Oh, my friend, it's a miracle: your one tiny life's head on collision with divinity."

  • Three Weeks With My Brother by Nicholas Sparks
"I don't pray because it doesn't work. Prayer doesn't fix anything. Bad things happen anyway." -Micah

Note: Just about every other line in this book is inspirational and full of meaning. Read this one if you haven't yet!

  • Wither by Lauren DeStefano
"I always knew I was an excellent liar; I just didn't know that I had it in me to fool myself." -Rhine

"I'll tell you something about true love. There's no science to it. It's as natural as the sky." -Rhine's father

  • If I Stay by Gayle Forman
"Sometimes you make choices in life and sometimes choices make you."

"And that's just it, isn't it? That's how we manage to survive the loss. Because love, it never dies, it never goes away, it never fades, so long as you hang on to it."

  • Bubbles All The Way by Sarah Strohmeyer
"He even lets me sleep on the dry side of the bed!" -Debbie Shatsky

  • True Grit by Charles Portis
"I thought you gonna say the sun was in your eyes. That is to say, your eye!" -LaBoeuf
I'm sure I'm missing some very important and special quotes, so when I check out everyone else's I bet I'll find some really great other ones. I love funny ones, ones that mean something special or deep. :o) Thanks everyone!
